so here are some pictures.
this is the day after.
the headlight was completely smashed
heres the new one
a shot of the wires with the new headlight mounted. The previous owner had made some mistakes and I finally figured out why the tach backlight never worked. So that's fixed...
the newer cast. This one let me move my fingers so I was able to take exams and more importantly... fix this damn mess i used to call my ride.
there's a new pair of handlebars on their way and I'm thinking about replacing the airbox with a filter and gutting the midsection to give it that old school see through look. The front fender was toast so I cut it down with a hacksaw to a sportier looking smaller shape and painted it matte black. Pictures of that should be coming soon.

ok. So the sr500 and i had a little hit and run incident on the n5 on my way home. I've been doing the best i can to repair it with my left hand since i broke my right one while tumbling around. There was also some nasty road rash on my knee but more importantly THE BIKE!!!! gasp. i was thrashed but all i could worry about was the damage it took from sliding. The headlight was totalled and so was the fender. The bars are bent but other than most of the bike is fine.
So I've redone a lot of the wiring, put a new headlight and turn signals on it. I've got a new pair of bars on the way and ive hammered out and chopped the fender so it looks half decent. The new and improved loser cruiser will be back on the streets as soon as the weather gets above freezing since i don't feel like taking any more spills this winter.
My cast is off tomorrow and I'll be uploading the photos of the gory wounds and damage as well as the repairs i made as soon as i get my camera phone to cough up the pictures via bluetooth. Still figuring that out...
