68 honda ss125

Well this project has been flying under the blog's radar since about late may and I've been dedicating more time to it these days. My little sister wanted something stylish to ride around and this poor little bike kept getting relisted on ebay. It needed a home! Now it lies in pieces on my garage workbench but not for much longer...

the 1st day

just taking a look at it I could tell a lot of stuff was missing or completely rotten. The ignition switch was gone, so was the horn, the left hand switch was shot, the fork boots need replacing, the turn signals are nowhere to be found... I made up my mind on converting this little antique to a 12v electrical system and just getting cheaper more modern electrical components.

Then there was the engine... After draining the little oil that was left in the engine I decided to crack it open since the bike didn't seem to have much oil left in there at all. The pistons were scored... youch

so I've got first oversize ones with rings that are all shiny and new as well as a cylinder hone and micrometer to get those pistons ready to run again.
